This commit adds a new personal setting
`resolved_topic_notice_auto_read_policy` which controls how
resolved-topic notices are marked as read for a user.
Fixes#33599.
On the event side, orjson does the work of converting
UserGroupMembersData to json. But when fetching intial state data,
UserGroupMembersData was being returned which is not
json-serializable. This was causing a mismatch in the `verify_action`
workflow of test_events related to stream group settings where
apply_events resulted in a state with `direct_members` and
`direct_subgroups` as part of an ordinary dict, while fetching initial
state data was giving us a UserGroupMembersData class.
This commit uses UserGroupMembersDict where appropriate. It will
still be good to keep around the dataclass class since it has the added
benefit of storing the relevant value when needed.
Tuple is converted into a list by orjson, which in turn causes mismatch
in the initial state and the hybrid state after using apply_events.
Using a list instead helps us prevent that.
UserGroupMembersData is not serializable by orjson. We will be
introducing a TypedDict (which is serializable) in the next commit
called UserGroupMembersDict. This rename will help us distinguish
between the two.
Removed `is_billing_admin` user property as it is no longer used since
billing permissions are now determined by `can_manage_billing_group`
realm setting.
This commit implements the backend of migrating the
`allow_edit_history` setting to
`message_edit_history_visibility_policy`.
This allows organizations, to have an intermediate setting to
view only the "Moves" history of the messages.
We still pass `realm_allow_edit_history` in `/register` response
though for older clients with its value being set depending on the
value of `realm_message_edit_history_visibility_policy`. We set
`realm_allow_edit_history` to `False` if the
`realm_message_edit_history_visibility_policy` is "None", and
`True` for "Moves only" or "All" message edit history.

This commit adds typing indicators for message editing in stream
as well as in dm, if the send typing notification
for corresponding is enabled.

The stream and subscription objects now have stream_post_policy value
set according to the can_send_message_group setting representing the
superset of users who have permission to post in the channel.
This commit completely eliminates the home-grown
data_types.py system for checking types.
Now, in our unit tests and schema checkers, we use
pydantic types to check the shape of the event
objects that are either in our JSON fixtures or
that get captured by test_events.py.
The code in event_types.py was completely
code-generated from the legacy version of
event_schema.py, so there shouldn't be any
manual errors in how I ported the types over.
(The code generation was non-trivial, though,
as I had to account for changes from
snake_case to CamelCase and deal with some
other anomalies.)
This commit introduces a new non-operational
`moderation_request_channel` field to the server/API. This setting will
support a feature allowing users to flag or report abusive content
(harassment, spam, etc.).
Fixes part of #20047.
Clients do not use default stream groups feature now but they
should only require IDs when they use them and not the full
stream data since that is already available in streams and
subscriptions data.
Removes deprecated `user` object from reactions objects returned by
the API as it is redundant because of the presence of `user_id` field in
the API and is not used by any clients now.
Removed `edit_topic_policy` property, as the permission
to move messages between topcis is now controlled by
`can_move_messages_between_topics_group` setting.
`is_archived` field is added to the stream and types.
Include a new `archived_channeels` client capability, to allow clients
to access data on archived channels, without breaking
backwards-compatibility for existing clients that don't know how to
handle these.
Also, included `exclude_archived` parameter to `/get-streams`,
which defaults to `true` as basic clients may not be interested
in archived streams.

on the API level, we have started accepting anonymous groups similar to
other settings
We've kept require system groups true for now until we switch to group
picker on the frontend.

'realm_upload_quota_mib` is updated when `plan_type` changes.
Earlier, we were including 'upload_quota' to update
`realm_upload_quota_mib` in extra_data field of 'realm op: update'
event format when property='plan_type'.
This commit migrate those two parameters to `realm op: update_dict`
event format.
* None of the clients processes these fields, so no compatibility
code required.
* Renamed `upload_quota` to `upload_quota_mib` as it better aligns
with our goal to encode units in the client-facing API names.
Also, it helps to avoid extra code to update 'realm_upload_quota_mib`
in web client, web client simply aligns with
'realm["realm_" + key] = value'.
Earlier, only public data export was possible via `POST /export/realm`
endpoint. This commit adds support to create full data export with
member consent via that endpoint.
Also, this adds a 'export_type' parameter to the dictionaries
in `realm_export` event type and `GET /export/realm` response.
