071c1c617d vscode: Recommend remote development extension. 
Add the VSCode Remote Development Extension to our list of recommended extensions.

803f3cfac6 editor: Add .vscode/extensions.json file. 
Create a file with recommended extensions for contributors using
VScode as their IDE.

Update `.gitignore` so that the json file is added to the project
repository, without changing how the rest of .vscode is handled.
