# User groups

You can add a group to another user group, making it easy to express your
organization's structure in Zulip's permissions system.
## Browse and join user groups

1. Scroll through the list of user groups. You can use the **search box** near
the top of the menu to filter the list by group name or description.
1. Click the **plus** (
) icon to the left of a user group to
join the group, if you have
[permission](/help/manage-user-groups#configure-group-permissions) to do so.

## View a group's card
